With illumi’s new Model Preferences, you can now assign different AI models to different types of work in your board. You can easily compare them using same set of context.
Some work is about moving quickly. Drafting emails, summarizing meetings, organizing notes, or keeping projects on track. For these everyday tasks, speed and responsiveness matter most. Models like Claude Sonnet, GPT-4.1, or Gemini Flash are often a great fit.
Other work is visual. Generating images, exploring concepts, or refining creative directions. Different image models bring different strengths and styles, whether you’re sketching early ideas or creating polished assets ready to share.
Then there’s work that requires deeper thinking. Strategic planning, complex analysis, research, and decision-making benefit from models designed to reason through ambiguity and connect ideas across large amounts of information.
Model Preferences lives in your board settings. For each agent type, you can choose up to three preferred models across three tiers: Basic, Standard, and Premium. illumi remembers your setup and routes tasks accordingly.
What makes the comparison meaningful is that the context stays the same. Your note cards, your research, your brief, your thinking — live on the board. Every model you run draws from the same set of cards as context, so you're seeing what each model does with your actual work.
